Shailja Rana :A brief introduction about Sub lieutenant
Shailja Rana a Himachali girl cracked in as sub lieutenant in Indian Navy. This is a proud moment for Himachal as yet another braveheart girl of our state will be serving Indian armed forces and will be protecting our seas.
His brother Ashish Rana is already serving in Indian armed forces as captain. From Village Chayanu of Panchayat Naubahi Devi got inducted into Indian Naval forces as Sub lieutenant after taking her ‘Antim Pag’ in passing out parade at Indian Naval Academy at Ajimala.
She was accompanied by her father Captain HS Rana, her mother Meena Rana and her brother ASish Rana. Stars were mounted on her shoulders by her family as per the tradition.

Sub lieutenant Shailja Rana’s father is working as NCC official in JNGEC Sundernagar and her mother is a housewife. Her brother Ashish Rana is already serving as Captain in Indian Army.
Sub Lt. Shailja Rana started her academic career from DAV Hamirpur but cleared her metric from DAv Sundernagar. Her 12th was from Mahavir Sundernagar. Thereafter she chose Green Hills Engineering College for her B.Tech, JP Waknaghat for her M.Tech and finally P.hd from NIT Jalandhar.
