Riti Sharma : At 21, from music videos to social work, this girl has done it all

Riti Sharma and her journey towards chasing her passion and contributing to society

Riti Sharma is not a kind of girl who would settle for less but one who believes in giving everything to make something better. Few talents in Himachal Pradesh remain eloped from common eyes and Riti is one of them. At just 21 years of age, this girl has been following her passion for acting and simultaneously doing social work. It was about time for Himachal Pradesh to know one of Her daughters which we all should be proud of. Team We Are Himachali Presents, a small interaction with Riti Sharma.

• Firstly can you give us a detailed introduction of yourself?

Hi, My name is Riti Sharma. I’m basically from Kotgarh but was born and brought up in Shimla. I did my schooling from Loreto Convent Tara Hall and then my graduation from St.Bede’s Shimla. Well, I belong to a nuclear family. It’s just my dad, my mum and me.

• Tell us about your journey into the glamour world till now.

Well to be honest its fate that has got me here. I was Miss Shimla Winter Carnival in the year 2016. Never thought would win such a big pageant. It was a big platform where I was able to showcase my talent. After winning the title, I did a few videos, worked in Deepak Rathore project’s Suna Pada, did a song for a guy from Jaipur-Sachin Verma “Kaash Tu”, judged a fashion show.

• You have also been a part of Rotaract Club, how would you express your experience so far?

Well, it all started from Rotaract. Since childhood, I had this thing where I loved spreading smiles and helping others. Rotaract was one place where I could step into the shoes of others and feel how an underprivileged person would feel. It was where I developed confidence and leadership skills. I was the President of RAC Shimla Midtown 17-18. Now it has been 4 years working with this NGO, it gives me immense happiness and I shall continue working in this field.

• As an independent artist and model, what is the most challenging thing you have faced or one might face?

When you have passion you tend to do everything easily.

• How is your family support? Are there any other people other than the family you would like to mention? 

My family has been supportive. Unless and until it does not affect my studies they are cool with it. Oh yes, my cousins and my friends have always been there by my side no matter what. Right from school till now they have constantly motivated me and that is the only reason I have achieved this much.

• Finally, what are your plans for the future, what is coming in 2019?

I’m a girl who does not plan things to be honest. Let it go with the flow is what I think. But yes I’ll be doing more music videos now. I have done theatres for 2 years so most probably now I’ll start acting in short films too.
